Street Snaps HKSai Yeung Choi Street, Mong Kok, has one of the largest pedestrian flows in Hong Kong. An indie show held downtown is rare. Indie shows are usually considered to be underground parties for a minority, but today it’s moved to a busy street. Strong rhythms and sensitive musical themes have attracted many of the people passing through to stop and watch, to see what the young people are doing. On a hot summer evening watching the performers dancing, the audience begins to move along to the music. |
The Making of a My Little Airport Music VideoMy Little Airport is the impossibly cute Hong Kong indie band, founded by songwriter Ah P and vocalist Nicole. Their music is twee, their aesthetic coy, and their live shows are happy, clappy affairs. Quaint keyboards and lightweight call-and-response ditties about “toddling” in the zoo and forbidden romances are their calling cards. Since 2004 they have released 3 albums to much acclaim from the comfort and privacy of their own homes. The elusive, anti-tech My Little Airport seldom play live, but every time they do it is a wondrous full band affair.
